"yes; Bessie was blind" (174).
This quote is significant because it relates to the terms of how some of the characters in the story are unaware of the things that go on. Bessie was completely out in the dark, until Bigger told her what happend to Mary. Even though she knows what goes on, i think she is completely unaware of what Bigger can do.
What is Bessie going to do, is she going to snitch?
How is this going to affect Bigger with the note involved?
